Instagram has introduced a new feature that will show your followers when you’re online using a big green indicator light. If you want to turn it off, I’ll show you how in under a minute.
Personally, having the light on reminds me of…being on call 24/7. It’s just not my thing.

I mean, what if you’re at a soccer game with your kids or having dinner with your loved one, or talking with a client…
What if you have a stalker? I had one a few years back on Google Plus…it was not fun
Thankfully, there’s a way to hide your status from other people if that’s something you’re concerned about.
Go to settings in your profile to access privacy and security, select the “activity status” menu and then you click to turn it to “off.”
Yay, your time is your own again.
But wait…You won’t be able to see when others are or were last online with Instagram either.
If you’re good with that though, you’re all set.
